I’ve worked in the Human Resources field for 20 years in various industries all over the East Coast. My career started in IT and evolved into the HR field after facing job loss multiple times from large tech firms. I began my HR career as a help desk agent for a large IT company—the most junior position you could hold in HR at that organization. From there, I organically grew my career by taking entry-level positions, learning all I could in each role, and then applying for a promotion or moving on to the next level in another company. I researched, took classes, attended seminars, worked closely with employment attorneys, and gained real-world experience. I grew slowly but with purpose, using my hands-on experience and an unquenchable appetite for learning to propel me to the Executive suite.

Throughout my career, I found the same inconsistencies in leadership at every level. Most leaders I worked with lacked emotional intelligence and basic leadership skills. I spent most of my time managing their emotions and controlling the damage from the bad decisions they made repeatedly. It wasn’t until I was certified as a Gallup Strengths Coach in early 2022 that I realized people are hard-wired to be who they are. No amount of coaching can change them, but the good news is they can use their strengths to help overcome blind spots in their leadership capabilities. I’ve coached many individuals and teams and found that those who are willing to do the work are the ones who are successful.

When I decided to strike out independently, I only wanted to do Gallup coaching due to my passion for developing great leaders. However, I quickly realized that many small companies and non-profits could not yet afford to employ a full-time HR professional. So, I began consulting to assist with the needs of growing small businesses that require essential HR guidance. It’s exciting to see a small business on the cusp of exploding into the mainstream, wanting to increase the right way and take care of their employee’s needs. I enjoy helping small businesses design their organization so that they are set up for success. I am also enthusiastic about helping individuals find their dream jobs or get motivated to improve their personal lives.
